Cereals: falling sales in the U.S.


Sales of wheat, corn and soybeans fell from the previous week in the United States during the week just ended.

This is indeed what said Friday the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) in its weekly report.

Sales of wheat and declined to 168,100 tons against 431,200 tons last Friday, maize imports falling to 306,000 tons against 345,200 tons.

Meanwhile, exports of soybeans regressed to 281 300 tonnes against 663 200 tonnes.

Analysts had expected for their on wheat sales between 300,000 and 450,000 tonnes, the projections for maize at between 350,000 and 550,000 tonnes and those relating to soybeans is within a range of 400 000 - 550,000 tons.

During the same period, the U.S. sold more than soybean meal (281 300 tonnes against 51 100 tonnes) and soybean oil (7300 tonnes against 2300 tonnes).
